Thursday, November 10, 2016. The outcome of this presidential election has left me feeling absolutely heartbroken. Those of you to which I am close will know that I have always fiercely supported this country and the values upon which it was founded. It was with feelings of horror, confusion, and heartache that I watched our nation choose the path it did earlier this week.

I am currently a Senior Instructor in the Computer Science department at Portland State University. I have experience teaching undergraduate coursework in computer science, computer ethics, human-computer interaction, and the social impacts of technology at Portland State, Georgia Tech, and UC Irvine Teaching. I live with my partner, Luke Olbrish.

My research investigates cognitive computing support so that blind people can effectively navigate and access information and interfaces in their daily lives. The general approach for achieving this is to deeply integrate wearable computing, on-demand crowdsourcing, and computer vision. My other interests include interaction techniques, sensing technologies, and Internet of Things. Anhong Guo is a fourth year Ph. student in Human-Computer Interaction Institute.
